Gochujang Stir-Fry Pork

Here is a recipe for Jeyuk Bokkeum (Spicy Stir-Fried Pork):

Ingredients:

  • 450g pork shoulder or pork belly, sliced into thin strips
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/4 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the gochujang, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat some oil over high heat. Add the pork and cook for about 5 minutes, or until browned on all sides.
  3. Remove the pork from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add some more oil and sauté the garlic and onion for about 2 minutes.
  5. Add the bell pepper and cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Return the pork to the skillet and pour in the gochujang mixture. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, or until the pork is fully coated in the sauce.
  7. Add the green onions and stir-fry for another minute.
  8. Serve the pork over cooked rice and garnish with sesame seeds.

This dish is a perfect way to enjoy Korean cuisine and its spicy and savory flavors with a little sweetness, you can also add more veggies like mushrooms, carrots, or zucchini to make it more colorful and healthy.
